The Truth | ZBW

Things I’ll confidently admit as someone passionate about holistic living & natural healing:

• I still paint my nails — even when the polish isn’t non-toxic

• I occasionally eat fast food

• I sometimes skip workouts and taking my vitamins

• I usually eat more snack food than actual meals

• I watch way more TV than I “should”

• I put off reading my books because my bed and a show feel easier

• I drink coffee regularly

• Some of my hygiene products aren’t 100% natural

• I eat sugar

• I miss meals or eat too much / not enough at times

• I sit or lay down more than I’d like

• I scroll on my phone longer than intended

• I choose convenience over “optimal” sometimes

• I use over-the-counter meds or creams when needed

• I experience chronic stress

• I mostly eat foods that are comforting, not “clean”

• I go through phases of inconsistency

• I live in environments that aren’t toxin-free

• I say no to things that are “good for me”

• I choose rest over productivity

• I don’t get 10k steps daily

Health isn’t about perfection — it’s about awareness, intention, and consistency over time.

I choose nourishment, not punishment. Balance, not extremes.

Wellness should support your life — not control it.

You don’t lose credibility because you’re human.

You gain it by being honest.

____

I know how easy it is to compare yourself on social media — to scroll past curated routines, glowing skin, perfect habits, and feel like you’re somehow behind or failing at life.

It’s hard not to feel like shit about your own life when all you’re seeing is everyone else’s highlight reel.

But what you don’t see are the skipped days, the stress, the inconsistencies, the coping, the real trade-offs happening off camera.

Most of us are just doing the best we can with the capacity we have — in bodies and nervous systems shaped by real lives, not algorithms.

You’re not broken because your life doesn’t look effortless.

You’re human 🧘🏻‍♀️❤️
